Uncomfortable!

I'm now six months prego and have entered the stage of going out to eat and being physically uncomfortable afterward. My tummy area feels as if there is no more space in there and everything is being pushed upwards into my ribs cage. Other then that I am doing good. Nothing too exciting to report. I went to the doctor last week for my month;y check up and she says everything looks perfectly healthy and normal. I did make her happy by gaining 6 pounds since my prior appointment a month ago. So I now weigh the most I ever have in my life. No complaining here, I know me and my boy are healthy and that's all that matters.

My arch enemy....

So of course when Joe is out of town weird stuff always seems to happen. This last week he was out of town for 2 days and one of the first days I woke up, and of course had Charlie potty duty on my own (which I hate by the way) So, I get up and get Charlie ready to go outside and I am half asleep, and when I open my front door I almost walk right into a HUGE spider web that was spun in my doorway! I looked up and no joke there was a GIGANTIC spider sitting in the web!!! It was as big, if not bigger, then a silver dollar! I hate spiders, I hate BIG spiders! So I had no other choice then to slam the door (and lock it behind me-like the spider could get in!) and take Charlie out in through the basement, and left for work through the basement as well.

When I got home from work I decided to be brave and knock the spider down with a broom. It was a hysterical sight I am sure. I took the broom and started with the web and then got the spider and swept them both toward the bush, and threw the broom half way across the yard! Then I did this ewwwwww I'm grossed out dance that I am sure if the neighbors were watching would have just thought I was crazy.

There was peace for the next few days, but I was paranoid every time I walked into/ out of the house because the reality is I probably just knocked the spider into the bush directly next to my door and I was really afraid of some arachnophobia type of thing to happen!! I know I am dramatic =)

No joke...he was back this morning when I left for work. YUCK!!!! at least Joe is home now, but still...gross!!!

Fun at the pumpkin patch!

Joe and I had a very busy weekend, but managed to take some time to go to a pumpkin patch somewhat close by. I was thinking about it and couldn't ever remember ever going to one while growing up...tear. So we had arranged going with our very good friends the Scott Family and made a quick afternoon of it.

The weather was nice, although I was hoping for it to be a little cooler. We ate home made ice cream (yum yum) and some had apple cider. We took a hay ride to see and pick out pumpkins, but when we got there we realized we didn't want to spend $25 for a pumpkin when we could go to Walmart and pay $5! All in all it was a fun time with friends that we love!

We were spooked!

So we woke up this past Wednesday morning to a bowl of treats on our doorstep. It was filled with yummy candy, lip gloss, dog treats for Charlie, a teething ring for our baby, and cute post it notes that were Halloween and fall themed. My guess it was someone who knows us pretty well, wouldn't you say? ;-) It also had a cute little poem letting us know why we got this adorable bowl of treats and instructions on what we were to do next. We also had a cute ghost cut out that read "We've Been Spooked" on it so we can tape it to our door. Here is the poem that was included:

Your house was spooked during the night.

By someone who wants to give you a fright!

A bag of treats has been left for you.

Full of candy and yummy goodies too.

Now it’s your turn to give someone a fright.

Place 2 bags of goodies and 2 ghosts out during the night.

You have only tomorrow night to spread the ghosts,

So that the whole neighborhood will be spooked to the most.

Place a copy of this rhyme in each good bag you leave

So that the next house will know how to proceed.

Once you’ve been spooked, leave your ghost on the door

So everyone will know to come no more!

So, Joe and I took this opportunity to participate and spread some love to our neighborhood. I went out and bought cheap plastic pumpkin and ghost baskets and filled them with candy, a yummy fallish smelling candle, raw hide bones (the people we are thinking of "spooking" have dogs as well) cookies that baked.

I know you are probably thinking big deal, or LAME! But Joe and I have really been praying on how we can build community in our small neighborhood and show some love to ones we live close to. So when this came our way I jumped on it! I get excited about this kinda stuff, and Joe is so good he just encourages me and helps me to make things like this happen. So tonight we are going to be passing on the the love. I pray that these baskets will bring a smile to someone's face and that I see a ton of ghosts taped to the doors of neighborhood!

5 months...

I don't have much to say this time, other then I am almost 23 weeks along in my pregnancy (5 months) and I am really enjoying it! Thus, far this has been such an easy experience. I know I have sometime to go and I'm sure I will feel pretty uncomfortable and all the other joys you have in your third trimester, but I feel really blessed. I feel the little man move more and more as each day passes. Last night while I was laying in bed I saw my belly move! It was amazing!!! I feel so fortunate to actually carry a child and experience the miracle of a person growing inside of me. Thanks for letting me gush!

Can I get an AMEN!

So, last night was the second night a group of girls and I met at our home as a community group and it has ROCKED! I am so happy to be apart of this group. There are six of us ladies that are in all different stages and ages of life. We have me a twenty something who is married and prego. Mitzi, a thirty something, single and a great teacher of God's word. Jeannie a thirty something who is married and has a 8 year old. Melissa , a twenty something, single and a photographer (hoping she will take some pics of Joe and I for our Christmas cards!) April who is a thirty something, married, and a mommy of a 2 year old. And Summer, a twenty something, married, no kids (yet) and who's hubby is getting ready to leave for Iraq in January. We are following along with our pastor who is teaching our church the whole book of Luke. We recap the sermon from the morning and discuss the questions that are in the bulletin. It is really great to have real community and ability to see friendships blossoming. My prayer is that we can all stay committed to the group and that we can grow closer as friends and learn more about Jesus together. This group is an answer to prayer for me and I thank God for each of these ladies, and how he has put us all together at the perfect time! AMEN!!!
