Leaving on a jet plane

Tomorrow morning Owen and I leave for California! I'm very excited to see family and friends, especially the one's who have not met Owen yet. Although, I'm excited my nerves are going crazy for the anticipation of the flight there. Everyone keeps telling me that Owen is at the perfect age to fly, and to give him a bottle during take off and landing, and things will just be fine. I know everyone is probably right-Owen is a great baby-it's just the unknown that is always makes me nervous. So, please pray for us as we prepare and leave for our trip tomorrow. I'm also really sad to leave Joe for 2 weeks. I will miss him and Owen will really miss him. We plan on doing the whole web cam thing so hopefully that will help some! OK, I must go...I gotta get my packing done BLAH!!!!!

Fun at the pool!

After a nice long (much needed) nap, we headed over to our friend's The Overly's pool and went swimming for the first time with O. Now I did not swim because I need a new bathing suit-the one I had no longer fits after having a baby! So, Joe and Owen got to swim together and Owen went under a few times! He did really well. He cried for like a half a second and then was fine. Here is a short video of him going under. The quality is not all that great, but you will get the idea. So much fun, and looking forward to many days at the pool now that it's hot!

JOE+JEN=LOVE

Last night Joe and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary! I just have to tell the world that I have the BEST husband EVER!!! Joe came home from work and brought me home a very sweet card with a lot of sweet words written in it, and with the card he got me a Dr.Pepper and had a balloon attached to it that said " I love you" on it. How sweet huh?! He knows my most favorite treat ever is a cold Dr. Pepper! We then packed Owen's bag and got him ready to take over to Alan and Sherry's house so we could go on a romantic date to The Melting Pot ( a fondue restaurant). We have been wanting to go to The Melting Pot for a very long time, so it was nice to go there on such a special night. When we got there, there was a dozen red roses waiting for me at the table that Joe had arranged to have at our table...isn't he dreamy? We had so much fun!!! We ate the most yummiest food ever! My favorite part was the cheese and bread part, and of course the chocolate dessert part-the dark chocolate was to die for! Needless to say my love tank was full!

I am honored to be Mrs. Joseph Braun. I am grateful for his life and for our relationship. He loves and takes care of me in such selfless ways. He leads our family spiritually in ways that I'm sure makes God smile. He is the best daddy, who is so in love with his boy (which is so HOT!) We have had a wonderful 4 years of marriage. We have had many adventures, many challenges, but it has all been full of love. I love my husband!

He's big enough for the Bumbo!

Today, I was putting things away in the new house and came across our Bumbo that was still in it's box. I didn't really think Owen was big enough for it yet, but I thought I would give it a try just in case. He loved it and looked so big sitting like a little man! He sat in it for about 15 minutes before he got a bit fussy. I didn't really blame him, he was using his little neck muscles in a new way, and not to mention those tummy muscles too. Charlie wanted to get in some of the pictures too and kept licking Owen-he is really good with the kid!

Feeling a bit homesick these days...

I just want to say I'm soooo excited to go to California in just two weeks! I miss my family so much these days and can't wait to introduce Owen to the family members who haven't met him yet. I'm so excited for the reason we are going to CA- my sister's wedding-YAY! It will be a happy, but busy time. Owen and I will be there for a total of 3weeks, and Joe will come a few days before the wedding and stay the week after. We can't wait to take our boy to the beach, for him to get good snuggles from Grandma and Papa, and visit with good friends. I'm really excited!!!

Our new happy home!

Well, we are all moved in and about 75% (maybe less-who knows) unpacked. We love this house! It's so fun! We have a huge yard, and a dog run for Charlie. We have plenty of room for out of town guests...hint hint. It's very big, and sometimes Joe and I get lost in it! But our most favorite part is our sunroom. It's completely screened in, so no mosqueto bites for me (YAY!), and it's proven to be our resting place after a long day. Monday night we ate pizza out there and enjoyed a nice Georgia spring night, and last night we had some friends over and played cards-FUN!

Our favorite place in the house-the sunroom.

Grouchy Butt...

I believe Owen is suffering from all the changes from our move. Poor guy! He has been such a grouchy butt the last two days. He doesn't want me or Joe to put him down, laying him down for naps and bedtime has been a challenge, and there is just random fussiness through out the day. It's so out of his character.

Here is a video of him sorta displaying his grouchiness. Is it bad I think it's funny sometimes and want to capture it on video? Oh, well if it is bad that's OK I still thinks it's funny!

Rollie Pollie Ollie

Yesterday was a day full of firsts for Owen. He rolled over from his back to his tummy three times! I was on the couch and had him on the floor doing some blanket time and all of a sudden the kid just rolled right over. He still doesn't have the skills to move his little arm, so he just looks uncomfortable for a bit until I move it for him. He also is turning all directions in his crib. We put him to sleep last night the normal way and when I went to get him this morning he was in the complete opposite direction and smiling as usual when I started talking to him. He is soooo sweet! I don't have a picture of anything I just talked about, but here is a fun picture of how big Owen is now smiling. He is truly a joy in our lives and is such a good baby-we are blessed!

This California girl went strawberry picking...well kinda

Last Wednesday Owen and I went to Loganville, GA to go strawberry picking with my friend's Jen and Ann. We loaded up Jen's van with all our boys and went on our "adventure" as Ann called it. I actually didn't pick many strawberries at all because when we first got there it was time to feed Owen, of course, so William, Russ, and Logan picked the majority of my bucket for me. What nice boys huh? After I fed the boy I loaded him up in the Bjorn and followed the the big boys as they picked strawberries for me. It was so cute watching the bigger boys go through the rows of strawberries, it made me look forward to the toddler years when Owen can walk and talk and think strawberry pickin' is fun. Going strawberry picking was definitely me stepping out the box and doing something I wouldn't normally do, but I'm glad I went. I had a lot of fun with my girls, and their boys!

Here's our very full buckets! (left to right: William, Russ, Logan and Owen)

and we're moving AGAIN!

So, yeah The Braun's are moving again! Don't worry we are not leaving Atlanta, we are basically moving down the street a bit. Our lease is up on our townhouse and with all the issues we have had with it this year we have decided not to sign another year's lease.

Our friend Michele from church is a realtor and an investor and we are renting a BIG house from her! It's a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom, better laid out home! We are really excited and hope that we can stay put there in that house for at least more then a year. Joe and I counted and this will be the seventh time moving in our 4 year marriage-crazy! Pictures to come soon as well as an email with our new address.
