Great opportunity!

OK, I was totally convicted that I hadn't shared this info with many people, when a friend of mine asked me about it and said they were surprised they didn't hear it from me! Oopps!

We were approached by a family we are friends with, The Martin's, to pray about a proposal they were offering. They knew we have been in a hard place...being able to pay all our bills and feed our tummies, but that's about it. There has been no real money to save for cushion let alone for a down payment for a home to purchase one day. Sooooo, they asked if we would consider moving in with them and for me to watch their baby-Jackson 3 days a week in exchange for rent. This has been has been in the works for about 2 months now, and after much prayer and conversations with Joe and The Martin's, we have decided to do it! We will be moving in with them June 1-which by the way they have a HUGE home. We would all have our own rooms, and bathrooms. We have decided we will do this for about 6 months. It allows Joe and I to save a ton of money, and it blesses them by not having to put their little guy into a daycare facility at such a young age... Jackson is 4 months old. We know life will change a lot and will look a lot different for 6 months. But, we are so excited for what this means for out little family's future. We have never been in a place where we could save for an emergency fund and we are excited about the thought of buying a home again, sometime soon!

Anyway, sorry if you already heard all this through the grapevine and not from me or Joe. We just wanted to be careful while making the decision and really pray about it. When we made the decision it seemed life got crazy and all of a sudden it's just around the corner! So, June 1 is the big day!! Yaay!!

Anyway, sorry if you have already

Spikes for summer time!

Owen got a cool new hair cut for summer. Here are some pictures taken a few days ago going to town on some blueberries (his new fave) sporting his long shaggy hair. It's getting hot here, and the poor little guy is hot blooded just like his Daddy. After him playing outside with Daddy and Charlie yesterday afternoon I decided it was time for a shorter haircut when he came in with his hair matted to his face with sweat!

Reading with his boy Charlie...so sweet!

EARLY Birthday present

Sooooo I gave Joe a fun and VERY VERY early birthday present last night. I gave him a digital SLR camera he has his eye on for about 2 years! He is turning 30 this year, so it's a big birthday. I wanted to give him something special because he takes such wonderful care of me and Owen. I decided to give it to him early because we are getting ready to go on some big trips next month and I knew he would want a good camera to take with us to Washington, DC and to Chicago. We went with the Nikkon D60 and are so very pleased with it so far. Here are some pictures I have taken with the camera. I will be honest, this may be MY new hobby! =)

One smart cookie

It amazes me everyday how much of a sponge Owen is these days. He is understanding and communicating with Joe and I as best as he possibly can, and it's so where much fun! A few examples of this...Last night when it was bedtime Joe told Owen "okay bud it's night night time" and Owen without being prompted started blowing sweet kisses! Today he and I went to MOPS to help babysit and and when we pulled up to the church from the backseat I heard "daaaadeee" he knew we were where his daddy worked and he was going to see him! Soooo cool! He loves to read, and I love that he loves reading. He will flip pages and babel and "read" most of the time he says "book" about a 100 times while reading. I just love my sweet boy!

Walking backward and talking!

Owen is doing this hilarious new thing! He has learned to walk backward and he cracks himself up while doing, which cracks me and Joe up as well, which instigates him to walk backward some more! He has a very fun personality. He is still a thinker and can be quite serious, but he can be very goofy at times as well.

He trying to talk more and I love it! New words these days include "hiiiii", baaaal (ball), and he has said dog a few times.

Life is good!

Jesus is ALIVE!

Our friend's Kevin and April have taught their three year old, Faith, to say "Jesus is Alive" whenever someone says Happy Easter to her...and I love it! It is the true meaning of Easter and I want to teach Owen that it is not all about the Easter Bunny and tons of candy. But, that our Savior rose from the dead! AMEN!

We had a great Easter with friends. We had a a wonderful day at church, and then went to The Scott's house for a yummy lunch and Easter Egg Hunt. It was fun seeing Owen "hunt", although he wasn't too in to it!

Crazy couple of days

Sorry I haven't updated my blog for a bit. Owen has been giving us some worry the last few days and it has consumed me! He started off our Monday morning sleeping in until 9:10-something he just does not do. (By the way I am not complaining he is a WONDERFUL sleeper, just doesn't sleep that late!) Something in my gut told me to race myself about 15 minutes before he woke, I had had a bad feeling that he might not be feeling well and prayed against it. Well, when he woke up he had a fever or 102.6. He was very cranky and wanted to be held and cuddled-again not his usual. I couldn't keep his fever down all day and he was miserable. At about 6:00 I got nervous and took his temp again since he was like a limp noodle laying on Joe's chest with rosy cheeks. His temp was now at 103.7, I called the advise nurse and she advised us to take him in to the ER since our doc's office was closed. So with our meatloaf dinner right out of the oven and potatoes that were done boiling we got ready and took him in.

The Doctor's at the hospital could only come up with a diagnoses of Roseola. A fever virus that later produces a rash after a few days of high fevers, apparently common with kids his age. So the battles began. I fought with motrin and tylenol to keep his fevers as low as possible, so he could be as comfortable as possible. He continued to still have these yucky fevers and continued to be very lethargic. I called his pediatrian yesterday and they wanted me to bring him in. So, of course when I take him to see the doctor his fever started getting lower and almost non-existent. They were worried about him because of his age and wanted to make sure all could be checked. With that came some very invasive tests. They checked him for flu-a special procedure that involves sticking this q-tip thingie up his nose. They had to check his urine to make sure he didn't have a urinary tract infection, which they had to use a catheter to get a sample. It was a hard visit for both he and I. We both cried, and were happy to get out of there. All his tests came back fine. And, it seems the ER doctor was right. The rash appeared today on his belly and he has been fever free for 24 hours. I feel I was a bit parinoid, but it's so hard to see your kid miserable and just laying there.

Anyway, happy to report he is almost his old self. Oh, he has some canker sores in his mouth due to the virus he is trying to fight. So, that is just making him plain grouchy! Poor little guy!!
