Owen had his 18 month check up on Friday morning. We were happy that Daddy could join us for this appointment as he hasn't been to a well child check up in awhile. Owen did so good waiting his turn to see the doctor, something we have struggled with the last few times going to the doctor. The doctor said Owen is doing well and is developing great. One thing she gave us tips on was his eating habbits. She was happy that he has gained weight, but is a slow weight gain. She suggested that he may be he is a small meal six times a day eater rather than 3 meals plus a couple snacks here and there. She also suggested Pedisure drinks for extra calories. He is only in the 10th percentile for weight, thus the conversations regarding tips and such. She was pleased with his vocabulary progress and his ability to understand what she was asking him. All and all he is healthy and that's all that matters! He did get two more shots to help him catch up and he took them like a champ, only cried for a bit and once he got stickers he dried those tears right up. He will not go back to the doctor for a well child appointment until he is 2, and then after that only once a year. Just another reminder how big my boy is getting!
Stats:
weight: 22 lbs, 13 oz
height: 32.5
This is my attempt in keeping my memories as up to date as possible. It's our life. The big and small and stuff that I hold dear to my heart. My hope is that this blog helps family and friends, near and far, feel close to us through each memory.

Playground time!
We took O to the park this morning and he is loving the playground these days. I try to keep him on the playgrounds that are designated for his age group, but because he is the active adventurous boy that he is, he likes the one for the big kids the most. He climbs the stairs, goes across the bridges and slides down the (small) slides all by himself! I try teaching him proper playground etiquette, and I think he's getting it! He goes down the slides on his bottom, although he thinks about going head first almost all the time. He waits his turn and is kind to the other boys and girls. Oh, and it was really cool when we got to the Park Olivia and her daddy were just getting there too!! I love watching Owen figure things out and having fun...I love being his mommy!!
Cowboy orrrrr WWF Guy!
As I have said in many posts Friday's are our most favorite days! Joe is off on Friday's and it usually means doing something fun as a family, and usually no crowds. But, what it always means is fun cozy time in bed for the three of us!!
Owen has learned a fun (and painful at times for us) new trick. While you are laying down he comes and strattles you and bounces up and down. It cracks him, and us up! It also is a good work out because I always have to tighten my abs! =) He has learned in the last few days that he can do crazy jumps off of us and looks just like a WWF wrestler while doing it! Here are some fun shots of cozy time..

Long time no write
Well, this poor blog has been horribly neglected! I have had no motivation to write as life in the last 2.5 months has need intense and very crazy! Taking on the challenge of watching another child has really rocked my world, and to intensify those feelings I am doing it under another family's roof. So, with that being said Joe and I are moving from The Martin's home into our own. We have been very busy in the past week and a half with our home search. We are looking at rental homes (and would prefer that) but we are open to apartment living again. The thing that is hard is the apartment rental market is pretty much the same as some rental homes. We put in an application for a little craftsman style home and hopefully we will know if we get it today! The Martin's have been really great to us and we have appreciated the time we have been with them. During this time God has grown us both indiviually and a couple and what is better than that!! Hopefully more frequent updates as well as some new pictures of Owen soon!!!
